Great Songs With Great Friends - November 12, 2008

A Message From Patrick
It has taken more than four years to record Great Songs with Great Friends, but the final production is worth the work and the wait. Although originally conceived as a solo project to replicate my stage presentations, this album of songs from several decades evolved to become a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with talented friends and family. I would like to express special appreciation to my wife, Cheryl Barney Durr, for encouraging me to include these creative people in this venture. The excellence of the final product is the result of each person giving his/her best effort, musically or in technical assistance. I will be forever grateful for all of their contributions to this collection.

Part of the joy of this journey has been the opportunity to work closely with Kevin Durr, who happens to be my youngest brother. A talented singer and songwriter in his own right, Kevin has become a superior audio engineer and producer. I have come to rely on his expertise, advice, and his “ear.” In fact, our long-time trio, Home Grown, is currently recording a Christmas album in Kevin’s studio, and my partners also have come to recognize and to rely on Kevin’s many talents. Contact or this website for the release date of A Home Grown Christmas.

I have been blessed with a large, loving, musical family and many talented friends, some of whom are included in this recording. One day I hope to include the many more artists I know in another recording. Thankfully, there are many great songs and many great friends.

I hope that you enjoy Great Songs with Great Friends. Your comments are always welcome and appreciated.

The CD vs the Digital Download
Great care has been taken at every step of Great Songs with Great Friends to ensure the reproduction of natural instruments and precise vocal harmonies. The instrumentation is clean; the arrangements are uncluttered.

Technically, the CD will provide the best full audio spectrum appreciated by people with great sound systems and finely-tuned ears. In addition, the artwork of the CD packaging is included with the actual disc.

The digital downloads provide high quality audio, plus the convenience of downloading to computers and portable audio systems. However, digital downloads contain compressed soundwaves, and there is a subtle difference in sound from the actual CD.

As of December 1, 2008:

The CD is available at:
Patrick Durr Recordings
PO Box 3682
Modesto, CA 95352-3682

$15, plus $2 shipping and handling.

The digital downloads are availabe on CD Baby and iTunes $.99 per song or $13 for the 17 song album.

Whichever is your audio choice, thank you for listening to Great Songs with Great Friends.
